i dont really care that much about politics either, and its pretty darn obvious that i'm really not all that educated in it. I just get bored making records every now and again, and it seems like the political threads are the ones folks pay attention to.

I'm sorry if I'm coming down on you SSM. I get a little frustrated sometimes that things that are so clear to me aren't always so to others.

That's why I could never be in politics. I don't have the patience. Plus my dalliances in the porn industry.

Is that really your standard?
Actually, I think you'd do pretty well in politics, all things considered.

the problem w/politics is that no matter what--you have to be completely spineless--like acting...how you want people to respond to you determines what you will say and do---there are only that select few (reagan) who are able to combine personal interest and passion into governing

Adjusted gross income: $735,180

Tax owed: $187,768.

On Friday, the White House released the federal tax return of President George W. Bush and Laura Bush -- minus many of the itemized deductions. The president's income included his $400,000 annual salary as president -- the rest came from investments. Deductions included $75,560 to charities.

The vice president's return: **** and Lynne Cheney are expecting a refund of $1.9 million, the White House said, on income of nearly $8.82 million. The income largely was the result of exercising stock options that had been set aside in 2001 for charity. The couple donated just under $6.87 million to charity from stock options and royalties from Lynne Cheney's books. The couple paid nearly $2.4 million in taxes through 2005 when their tax bill was closer to $529,000 -- thus the refund.
