You can nit-pick over semantics, but surely everyone sees the value of marriage in a civilized society. Broadening the definition of marriage to the point that it approaches meaninglessness is not just silly, it's dangerous.

Marriage is the fabric of society that bind us. Look at the breakdown of the two parent families in the black community, and the disastrous results of kids being born out of wedlock and directly into poverty.

It's not right, it's not fair, but it's indisputable. Children born into a family with a Mother and Father are far more likely to grow up above, and never dip below the poverty line.

If it's just Civil Unions that is called for, I don't have any problem with that. But the assault on marriage is dangerous to all.

You're changing your argument.

Before you argued that marriage is sacred and gay people would corrupt it now you're arguing that marriage is the fabric of society.

Please pick one and if the latter explain how allowing two people of the same gender who love each other and want to build a life together to participate in the civil institution of marriage would endanger society's fabric.

Let me ask you a question; what if person A loves person B, and person B loves person C, and person C loves person A. A-B, B-C, C-A.

Shouldn't three people who truly love each other and are committed to a relationship be allowed to marry?
