This quaint restaurant new to our little mile square since February is easy
to miss on your walk to the PATH. Tucked in between Chinese Kitchen and
Re*Juice*A*Nation and across from the New York Sports Club (you know the gym.
Ever heard of it?!) and Sam Goody (oh sure, this you know) doesn't stand out
from the outside, but once you enter through the screen door it's a whole other
story. The first thought that'll cross your mind when you step inside is, "Did
an orange explode in here?" The walls are bright tangerine colored, with the
theme continuing on to the doors, light fixtures and chairs. The space is small
and houses only eight individual seats as well as an additional eight outside.
Fun knickknacks for sale like bookmarks and can openers fill the shelves and a
quiet staff stands ready to serve behind a counter that takes up most of the
restaurant's small space. After looking over the lengthy menu I can see why
they need such ample space to work, the menu has more options than an
all-you-can-eat buffet in Vegas. Overflowing with breakfast items (that are
served all day), and wraps and burgers in addition to make your own salads and
sandwiches, 3F6O6OD3 is sure to please even the most picky of eaters.
After coming close to reverting back to my childhood and ordering a #24, the
Grilled Peanut Butter sandwich (complete with sliced bananas) and served with a
fruit cup ($5.99), I eeny-meeny-miney-mo'ed my decision to #16, the Philly
Cheese Steak ($5.99). Charcoal grilled sliced steak on Hoboken bread with
peppers, onions, and American cheese. And not being able to leave well enough
alone I threw in an order of steak Fries ($2.99). My cousin, who was craving a
hearty breakfast after a late night opted for the #4, ($4.99) two eggs any
style (he choose scrambled), served with home fries, and a choice of sausage,
Taylor ham, or bacon (he choose sausage). Both our meals came out after about
five minutes and garnished with a slice of orange. My cheese steak came out
before my fries but I couldn't wait to dig in. The sandwich was hot, and the
cheese only slightly melted but it still looked good to me (a.k.a. someone
who's never had a REAL Philly cheese steak). However, my cousin's friend who
came along for the company had just come back from the aforementioned city and
referenced that my lunch choice was a sad excuse for its namesake. I agreed it
could have been better but my attention was quickly diverted when my hot fries
showed up and all was well with the world. My cousin's 3 p.m. breakfast was a
similar crowd pleaser in the sense that it hit the spot.
3F6O6OD3 seemed to be a reliable favorite as the screen door was constantly
swinging. For those not interested in eating in, they offer takeout as well as
free delivery. And if you find yourself with a nagging sweet tooth, displayed
in the front is a case of sweets that range from fat free to anything but.
Besides constantly having a never satisfied sweet tooth, my cravings always get
the best of me guaranteeing I'll be visiting 3F6O6OD3 again. Maybe this time
the Grilled Peanut Butter sandwich will win… that is unless the Fluffer Nutter
($1.99) doesn't beat it out (you remember, marshmallow fluff and peanut butter
on white bread?) Quick! "SOMEBODY STOP ME" from digressing back to my teen
years before I start spouting lines from… "The Mask"… uh, oh, too late.
