Hoboken, NJ: In conjunction with St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church, DeBaun Center for Performing Arts is proud to present a Messiah Sing Concert on December 6, 2008 at 8 p.m. at St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church, 57 Eighth St. in Hoboken, NJ.

The concert will be a sing-in version of Handel's "Messiah" featuring the Stevens Choir and local soloists: Jennifer Behnke, Justin Birdsong, Martin Burgert, Alice Heatherington, Helen Lynch, Lisa PierceGoldstein and Brian Quintin. Concert-goers can either come to sing along with the choir and soloists as they perform, or just sit back, relax and listen to the beautiful music. Piano accompaniment will be given by Stephanie Safko throughout the concert and the "Hallelujah Chorus" will be accompanied on organ by Richard Brode, St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church Music Director. Participants are encouraged to bring their own music if they already own it; otherwise copies will be available at the door. Come to sing or just to listen—no reservations are necessary.

The Messiah Sing Concert is a free event, but donations are being accepted at the concert to benefit the church's Lunch Time Ministry. Four mornings a week, St. Matthew Trinity's Parish Hall becomes an oasis for those who need a nourishing meal and a place to sit with friends. Supported by donations and staffed by volunteers, the Lunch Time Ministry provides food and a welcome to 25-75 guests each day it is open.
