*EDITOR'S NOTE*
We have been contacted by the owners of Air Studios and they have sent us an
updated description of their establishment. We include it so that there is no
confusion to the changes they have made as of November 2003. Thank you.

The following is the original review...
This cute little store sells clothing, accessories, some furniture and
assorted funky wares. It’s probably the hippest clothing store in town and
would not be out of place in SoHo or the East Village.
Both new and vintage clothing can be found here. There are one-of-a-kind
dresses ($70 to $120) from Shin Yee Mann and skirts and blouses from Albert
Chan ($60 to $150). An Anna Sui-designed mohair jacket was selling for $530
when I went recently. Co-owner Desiree Pesce sells some of her owns designs
here too. They include plaid silk blouses for $52 and something she calls air
pockets which women can wear over skirts and dresses if they need a place to
hold their stuff (they look like cut-off aprons and accentuate the hips
nicely).
The smaller men’s collection features mostly vintage shirts and pants and
ranges from about $20 to about $100. The vintage clothes here, some of which
dates to the 1920s, all look new and many have never been worn.
I bought a nice black collared shirt here a few months ago for $35. It makes
me feel like an actor from Swingers and gets lots of complements.
The original artwork lining the walls comes from New York-area artists. A
different artist is featured every few months.
Ms. Pesce's current stock includes leathers as well as vintage pieces from
the 1980s (studs and dark denim!). She also plans to bring in some vintage furs
for the winter.
